Who Am I

I am not a nutritionist, a doctor, or even a dietician. I’m a wife, a mom, and a person who was simply tired of trying to lose weight. Iyanla Vanzant said “trying is not doing”. That quote use to haunt me at times because I’m a perfectionist who needed to always succeed. While I am far from perfect I quickly learned that while trying was not doing, not trying was even worse. I needed to figure out how to lose weight and keep it off on my own terms. Figuring out my own terms is what this blog is about.

Slow Down

In our go go go society let’s focus on slowing down. Focus is listening to our body and following a set of principles as best we can to accomplish our goals

Do Something

Doing nothing got you were you are. You must now take some form of action to get to where you want to be. The key is making small changes over a period of time.

Stop Obsessing

You will not be perfect, but you will be better than you were yesterday. Stop looking to other people for validation and find out what works for you.

Praise Yourself

We are so hard on ourselves that we often times forget to congratulate ourselves. Simply attempt to be better. Praise yourself for that. Love yourself first.
